Notes:

In this reproduction, the “star” mentioned in the caption is hardly discernable. It appears slightly to the left of the third window from the bottom of the tower to the left, which is almost in the middle of the page. In the actual building, however, this denotes a landing on a stairway that appears to be the same age as the structure itself, and thus could never have been a room. It is possible that Moran was confusing a room at the equivalent point at the back of the building. Given Moran’s general lack of verasity, it might also just be that he made up such a detail for dramatic impact.
