Notes:

These four receipts were long preserved in volume I of John Bisco's own copy of The Broadway Journal. After acquiring Bisco's set of the Broadway Journal, from the H. Bradley Martin sale, the 19th Century Shop (in Baltimore) broke up the receipts to accompany other items. Receipt I was sold with item 161, Bisco's set of the Broadway Journal. Receipt III was sold with item 31, volumes 1-3 of the Southern Literary Messenger; and Receipt IV was sold with item 243, a fragment of Poe's coffin, exhumed in 1874. (A July 17, 1846 letter from Poe to John Bisco was also removed from the set and sold separately.) Receipts I and III are currently the property of a private collector. The location of receipts II and IV is unknown.
