Events (January 2011):

  • January 22 and 23 - Annual Poe Birthday Celebration (Westminster Hall, Baltimore, MD) (Sponsor: Baltimore Poe House and Museum)

    Featured events include Edgar Allan Poe: The Flip Side of Comedy, by Grover Silcox, and a tribute to Vincent Price. (2011 is the 100th anniversary of the birth of Vincent Price, who was well known for a number of recordings of Poe’s works, and his roles in the Corman-Poe films of the 1960s. Details to be announced.

    Please note that the Poe Vigil (waiting for the “Poe Toaster”) is not open to the public. For reasons of safety and respect for tradition, the Poe House actively discourages people from showing up and standing at the gates.

  • January 17,18, and 31, and February 1 - Annual Poe Birthday Celebration (Westminster Hall, Baltimore, MD) (Sponsor: Baltimore Poe House and Museum)

    Featured events include a tribute to Poe by John Astin as well as theatrical performances of “Hop-Frog” (with puppets live actors, presented by Mark Redfield), “Some Words with a Mummy” (presented by John Spitzer), and “The Tell-Tale Heart” (with Tony Tsendeas). Details to be announced.

    Featured events include a theatrical performance of “The Murders in the Rue Morgue” and “Remembering Poe” (from the perspective of Poe’s one-time fiancee, Sarah Helen Whitman).   • January 21- Poe Birthday Party (Richmond Poe Museum) (Richmond, VA)
  • January 27-28 - Annual Poe Birthday Celebration (Baltimore Poe House and Museum) (Baltimore, MD)

 

Events (June 2007):

  • June 17-23 - Edgar Allan Poe Young Writer’s Conference (Richmond Poe Museum) (Richmond, VA)

 

Events (October 2007):

  • October 7 - Annual Poe Society Lecture (Baltimore, MD)
  • October 27-28 - Halloween at the Poe House (Baltimore, MD)

    Repeated theatrical performances by Tony Tsendeas of “The Tell Tale Heart.” Performances at 12:15 PM, 1:15 PM, 2:15 PM and the last show at 3:15 PM. Admission is $5 all ages. Babies, toddlers and children up to the age of 8 are not permitted. Touring the museum is included in the admission. There are no advance sales, reservations or the “holding of seats.” Seating is first come-first serve. Parking is on street parking.
