Walker Anderson

Walker Anderson

(Born: July 18, 1801 - Died: January 18, 1857)

American lawyer, educator, jurist and orator. He was born in Petersburg, VA. His parents were Mary Reid Cameron and Daniel Anderson. He married Phoebe Hawks of New Bern, NC in 1822. He taught History and English at the University of North Carolina in 1831 and 1832. He moved to Pensacola, FL in 1835. He served as the 6th justice of the Supreme Court of Florida, 1851-1853. He died in 1857, and is buried in St. John’s Cemetary, in Pensacola, FL.
