Mrs. Emma Catherine Embury

(Born: February 25, 1806 - Died: February 10, 1863)

American poet. Emma Catherine Manly was born in New York City. Her father, Dr. James R. Manly, was a prominent physician. On May 10, 1828, she married Daniel Embury, president of the Atlantic Bank in Brooklyn, NY.
