John Gorham Palfrey












(Born: May 2, 1796 - Died: April 26, 1881)

American editor, educator, publicist, historian, and author. He was a professor of sacred literature at Harvard, 1831-1839, also becoming the Dean of the Faculty. He was editor of the Christian Examiner, 1824-1825, and later served as the editor and publisher of the North American Review, 1836-1842.
