Burton's Gentleman's Magazine was founded by William Evans Burton, an actor and comedian. After three years, he sold the magazine to George Rex Graham, who merged it with the Casket to form Graham's Magazine. The final issues of both of these magazines are essentially identical. Some copies bear the name of the new magazine, and some of the older ones.
