Vol. I (April 8, 1843 - September 30, 1843)  (Nos. 1-26) 1843 - May 13, 1843 (vol. I, no. 6) Misc. - Poe's Translation of "Souvenirs of Youth"  (pp. 90 - 91) (This is the first of two translations which were marked by Poe in the copy of the New Mirror that he gave to S. H. Whitman. Other translations in The Mirror signed "E. P." are presumed to be by Emily Percival.) 1843 - June 17, 1843 (vol. I, no. 11) Misc. - Poe's translation of "The Head of St. John the Baptist"  (pp. 169-171) (This is the second of two translations which were marked by Poe in the copy of the New Mirror that he gave to S. H. Whitman. Other translations in The Mirror signed "E. P." are presumed to be by Emily Percival.) 1843 - September 9, 1843 (vol. I, no. 23) "[The Man That Was Used Up]" (pp. 362-365)  (This is an unauthorized reprint of Poe's tale, abridged from the recently issued Prose Romances.)

Notes: A set of the three volumes of The New Mirror has special interest. It was given by Poe to Sarah H. Whitman (probabably around october 1848), with two items, noted above,  marked "P." These volumes, along with Poe's copy of the Broadway Journal, were given by Mrs. Whitman to John H. Ingram. They were sold as item 600 as part of the library of Thomas Jefferson McKee, on November 22-23, 1900.
