THE EDINBURGH REVIEW. No. CLXIII, for January, 1846. American Edition. Leonard Scott & Co., 112 Fulton street.

Since English Reviews must be republished in this country, onr own writers and publishers being precluded from undertaking the publication of American works of this class, by the absence of a copyright law, we are glad that the enterprise has fallen in such good hands as the publishers of the London, Edinburgh, Foreign, and Westminster. A greater amount of good reading, for so small a sum as these works cost, was never before afforded to the public. [column 2:]

The January number of the Edinburgh contains seven articles, the the most important being on the progress of Scientific Agriculture. The article on Charles Churchill, will be found, perhaps, the best reading for a literary gossip.
