Nicholas Biddle

(Born: January 8, 1786 - Died: February 27, 1844)

American financier. At the age of 17, he was the first editor of the journals of Lewis and Clark, who surveyed the western territories of the newly acquired Louisiana Purchase. Biddle married Jane Margaret Craig on October 3, 1811, and they had six children. His mansion, Andalusia, on the Delaware River, was built in 1794 by his father-in-law, John Craig.
